Without an extension

Take a full page screenshot in Chrome without an extension.

Chrome can already save a full size screenshot. DevTools is the honest first answer. An extension is useful when you want that capture in one click, then crop, annotate or blur it.

DevTools: Capture full size screenshot

  1. Open DevTools. Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows or Linux. On Mac, Cmd+Option+I.
  2. Open the Command Menu. Ctrl+Shift+P, or Cmd+Shift+P on Mac.
  3. Type screenshot. Choose Capture full size screenshot. Chrome saves a PNG to Downloads.

There is also Capture screenshot for the visible area, and node screenshots from the Elements panel. None of these open an editor or a blur tool.

Check the PNG. A page that scrolls inside a panel, rather than the window, can leave that region out. DevTools does not add a watermark. It also does not remember a phone viewport for you.

When an extension is the simpler step

One click

Capture’s toolbar click, or Ctrl+Shift+1, scrolls and stitches the page and opens the editor.

Edit before you share

Crop, arrows, text and basic blur are on the free plan. Copy Image is unlimited.

A phone-width view

Responsive presets capture the page at common phone, tablet and desktop widths from desktop Chrome. That is a CSS viewport, not a real phone.

The free plan saves PNG and WebP, up to 10 downloads per UTC day after a free sign-in. It does not save JPG. Pro is $3/month or $12/year and adds PDF reports.
